Social - Emotional Support at ECF
At ECF, we strive to help our students by providing any support that they may need. That support could be helping with academics or supporting their mental health. We believe that students who have the support that they need will do well academically and socially to achieve their goals.
What is social-emotional support?
Social Emotional Support helps students learn how to handle everyday problems to complex situations. As students advance in their education, they may experience many new stressors and challenges. The support provided to students teaches them skills to help with getting along with peers, handling frustrations that occur in the classroom or even learning how to manage negative thoughts and emotions.
While uncommon, the social emotional support provided also helps students have the opportunities to address more complex problems that they are experiencing such as grief, anxiety, depression or thoughts of self-harm.
If you feel that your student may benefit from social emotional support please contact our school social worker or let your student’s teacher know that you would like the extra support for your student.
