Welcome to the Food and Nutrition Services Department

The Food and Nutrition Services Department is responsible for the daily operations that ensure our students are well-nourished with breakfast and lunch while at our campuses. We proudly serve thousands of students every day.

Join Us for Breakfast and Lunch

The first day of school is Monday, August 5.  We look forward to seeing your children for breakfast and lunch.  Don’t forget to fill out your meal application for free or reduced-price meals.  You may complete your application or make meal payments online by visiting the LINQ Connect website.

 

 

 

Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Program

Avondale ESD is participating in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program for the 2024-2025 school year!  The program is funded through the USDA Department of Agriculture. All students will receive a fruit or vegetable snack twice a week in their classrooms, as well as learn fun facts about the fruits and vegetables. We look forward to our students having fun trying new and differents snacks!

Payment Portal

Families mayvisit our online payment portal, LINQ Connect to pay for meals. LINQ Connect offers:

  • A simple, fresh look to allow for better accessibility
  • An interactive dashboard to view all family members in one profile
  • A resource center to access help guides
  • Streamlined menus requires you to click less to do more

Visit your app store and find “LINQ Connect” available in the Google Play Store now and the Apple store available soon to download the new app and enjoy these new features. Just log in with your existing username and password. If you use a browser, log in at LINQConnect

If you don’t use our online meal payments portal, LINQ Connect allows you to set up one-time or recurring payments for your student’s meal. You can also view previous transactions, set spending limits, transfer funds between students, set low balance notifications, and more. It’s an easy way to manage meal payments without the hassle of sending cash.

Reduced-price meals are at no charge.

The AZ Department of Education has announced that from July 1, 2024, through June 2025 all reduced-price meals will be at no cost to the student. Students must be eligible for the reduced-price status to receive meals with the price waived to $0.00.

Meal applications are accepted all year!

You can still apply for free and reduced meals. Applications are available at your student’s school or online.

Breakfast & Lunch at AESD

With the end of the USDA universal free meal program, AESD will return to a meal pricing structure for school meals for the 2023-2024 school year.

Families may qualify for free or reduced-price meals by submitting a free and reduced meal application. A new application is required each school year. Apply here. 

  • Breakfast $1.50/Day
  • Reduced Breakfast .00/Day (Free through June 2024)
  • Lunch $2.50/Day
  • Reduced Lunch .00/Day (Free through June 2024)
